Rediscovering an old love.....

Try new things.  Never be afraid to try something new.  Because life gets boring when you stay within the limits of what you already know.

Before I had my kidlets, I used to see loads of live music. Big touring bands, festivals, small local gigs....it didn't matter....my friends and I loved it all! There's something special about being surrounded by like minded people all supporting these brave and talented artists...especially as

I have no musical ability myself 😉

Then it just stopped.

I don't think there was any particular reason, live music just sort of dropped out of my life.  I still retained my LOVE of music - I don't watch TV, but I always have music playing.  And I'd still go to the occasion concert by a big artist, but no more grungy pubs or new and upcoming bands.

Then a very special friend of mine, who is obsessed with live music, moved back to Australia and really encouraged me to get amongst live music again.

So, acting on impulse, I bought 2 tickets to see this kinda new band (Boo Seeka) who I'd heard and liked on Spotify and who were playing at a local pub. I found a friend willing to get a babysitter and join me! At first I was really excited! But as the time got closer to go I started feeling very self conscious about being 'so old' in such a young crowd, being out late on a 'Sunday night' and just kind of silly for going at all.

But....we went. And loved it!  And rocked it! And I remembered just how much I love being in that environment - small, intimate gigs, where you can have a dance and be close to the stage.

Now I'm hooked! I've got myself a solid wing-chick (aka Jeihan) and we take it in turns buying 2 tickets to cool local gigs and festivals (when I don't have the kids....I'm not quite that footloose and fancy free) and I'm so glad I've reignited my love affair with live music. It just adds another exciting and fun element to my life!

So remember: Try new things.  Never be afraid to try something new.  Because life gets boring when you stay within the limits of what you already know.

Or try old things again.

Every small change WILL become the big difference

in your life.

With so much love,

Katie Jane
