Why Taking Care of Yourself inside Matter Most?
Over the past 6-12 months I’ve made a big effort to shift my focus from EXTERNAL health to INNER health, and the results have been incredible!
With very little effort my body is leaner, stronger and fitter.
More importantly though I’m happier, more focused, driven and confident!
“If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change” – Wayne Dwyer, psychologist.
Changing focus away from SELF-JUDGEMENT, e.g. what we see in the mirror (usually flaws) to SELF-LOVE and SELF-APPRECIATION for our bodies creates space for us to listen to what we NEED, rather than pushing ourselves to do things we ‘think’ are good for us, but we honestly don’t enjoy.
Check out today's video to find out exactly what I mean by inner health, the amazing benefits of switching your mindset, and some key questions we can ask ourselves to achieve a healthy mindset!
What do I mean by ‘inner’ health? For me, it means creating daily practices in meditation, affirmations and gratefulness, as well as ensuring I get enough sleep and nutrition.
By switching focus to ensure we have a healthy MINDSET, how we view ourselves and our self-talk, creates ENERGY!
This energy then creates MOTIVATION for exercise, healthy eating, playing with the kids and even trying new activities.
If we can change the way we look at ourselves, instead of seeing perceived flaws, we’ll start to see just how amazing our bodies already are, exactly as they are.
Here is a list of questions we can use to shift our focus from external to INNER health:
Am I getting enough sleep to recharge my body and mind and ensure I’m starting the day full of energy?
What routines do I have in place to ensure I have time for the practices that serve me?
Do I keep nourishing food around to keep me energised and healthy?
What is my self-talk like – am I practising gratitude or negativity?
Am I engaged in activities that I enjoy and energise me?
Every small change will become the big
difference in your life.
