How’d you like to have a snack that helps you lose weight and stay strong?

So I took a stroll to my locals shops to get butter, cat food and toilet paper and by the time I got there I was feeling a bit peckish.

I was wandering about trying to find a 'healthy snack' .............and then I spotted them!

There in the deli!

One of natures best snacks packed with health benefits.

OLIVES!

Olives are about 80% water, but are well renowned for their good fat content - monounsaturated fat known as oleic acid that reduces inflammation and heart disease.

The have zero sugar and are very low in carbohydrates.

Nutritionally, olives are a good source of micronutrients including vitamin E, iron, copper and calcium.

Vitamin E is an amazing antioxidant that helps protect our cells from oxidative damage, and there is evidence that this vitamin may play a role in preventing obesity.

Iron is needed by our red blood cells to move oxygen around the body.

Copper reduces the risk of heart disease.

Calcium is essential for strong bones and teeth, regulating muscle contractions and making sure our blood clots normally.

Olives are also high in phytonutrients which each carry their own health benefits, including oleuropein which has has been linked to a reduced cancer risk, tyrosol which may have anti-inflammatory benefits and oleonalic acid for its heart health benefits.

Brine-cured olives are fermented meaning they have probiotic actions as a result, which is brilliant for gut health.

So grab yourself some delicious olives and snack away guilt-free!  Walking through the park whilst eating is optional - but highly recommended!

Every small change WILL become the big difference

in your life.

With so much love,

Katie Jane
